Welcome to the Franklin County Council on Family Abuse
-
Since 1993, the Council on Family Abuse has provided shelter and support services to hundreds of individuals affected by domestic violence and elderly abuse. Through empowerment families discover hope and have the opportunity to build a new future free from violence. Our mission is to break the cycle of family violence by establishing emergency housing and emergency assistance for victims of family violence. As our community continues to face the challenges of domestic violence, elder abuse and child abuse, support for the Council continues to be our most valuable asset. In 2008 alone a domestic violence case was reported every 36 hours. That means every day and a half someone’s life was turned upside down in search of safety and hope. With the continued support of the community, the Council can help men, women, children and the elderly overcome the impact of domestic violence, one life at a time.
